Great Campus
Midreshet Tehillah is located on the Neve Yerushalayim Campus in Har Nof, a spacious modern facility with grass, trees, flowers, and beautiful buildings. It is close enough to Central Jerusalem to enable easy access – we are approximately 75 minutes from the Kotel by sneaker and 15 minutes by cab! Between Har Nof and town there is an extensive residential, shopping, and dining area.
The Neve Campus is host to a number of women’s learning programs, whose students range from the religiously committed to those who are just beginning their exploration of Judaism. Mingling with them on campus adds another dimension of diversity to the Midreshet Tehillah experience.
Dorm Facilities
Midreshet Tehillah students are housed in our own dedicated dormitory building. The dorm building is divided into apartments, with each apartment having four or six bedrooms, a kitchen, and washroom facilities with showers. Three students share each bedroom. Laundry machines and dryers are available in the school building.
Midreshet Tehillah’s housemothers, Mrs. Tammy Goldschneider and Mrs. Rena Gershenfeld, supported by our madrichot, are responsible for the well-being of all students in the dormitory. Midreshet Tehillah accepts responsibility for its students from the beginning of the program until its conclusion, and its dormitory is open during all vacations.
Dining Facilities
A full complement of meals is served in the school’s dining hall throughout the year including during vacations and Pesach. A light breakfast is served every weekday morning. Lunch always includes a salad bar with either tuna or eggs, along with a hot vegetable and rice, noodle or potato option. Supper usually includes chicken and vegetables. Options are available for vegetarians, but anyone with more specific dietary requirements should take responsibility for her own needs. There is a fridge, freezer and microwave in each dorm apartment for student use, and basic cooking equipment is available for student use in the dining hall.
Other facilities available for our students on the Neve Yerushalayim campus include a music room, an art room, and an organic garden with chickens!
Shabbatot and Chagim
Approximately one time every month Midreshet Tehillah has a Shabbaton for its students to spend Shabbat together. Some of these take place on campus and others take place in residential facilities around Israel, such as the Old City and Tzfat. Click here to see our current Calendar and click here to read about our Shabbatonim.
For those Shabbatot and Chagim when the school has no planned activity, students generally make their own meal arrangements with friends or family in Israel. They can always choose to stay on campus, and many of the faculty live in Har Nof and are happy to host students for meals. If students prefer, they can be set up by the school for meals and/or sleeping with host families elsewhere. This creates educational opportunities to introduce students to different communities around Israel and to expand their experience of family Shabbat and Yom Tov celebrations.
